Okay JJ! This sounds fun to sing but when it comes to the real world we all got to side with what Jerry Maguire does…he shows the money guys! The most important necessity in today’s world. Have you ever thought about how your brain perceives M-O-N-E-Y?

Once a behavioral neuroscientist has said “how food treats are for dogs, money is for people”….scary isn’t it? We as homo sapiens live and derive our actions for and from money. It is said that if you use Pre Frontal Cortex (PFC) to make decisions about money you are seeking mediocre wealth. If you use your instinctive, reptilian, midbrain, you are more likely to achieve millionaire status. Scientists have also drawn a conclusion from MRI scans that, money heightens neural activity. When you do something for money, you become sharper, your neurons fire with greater speed….in fact, when they compare this dopamine filled brain; they found uncanny resemblance with the brain which is high on cocaine! That is the reason why you can get addicted or become “money minded” too easily, too soon. Another interesting region coordinating money-related choices is “Nucleus accumbens” (Let’s call it NA cause we are lazy!)….it is famous for contributing to goal driven behaviors. Wealthy people are shown to have more active NA. Thus it makes sense why Dr. Pillai calls ‘poverty a state of mind’. Certain other things can also influence your money choices like genetics and environmental factors…but the moral of the story is you can become rich if you train your brain to do so.

If you are someone who could not care less about this wormhole then probably your anterior insula (AI) is more active. You are intuitive and have gut feelings about financial decisions but always end up getting more money than you deserve? It’s not your fault! These spindle cells in your AI give you that gut feeling because your stomach has the same kind of cells. Just say “I am blessed” and move on (Don't forget to acknowledge your privilege though)!

I have to admit here that current topic is inspired by “Squid Game”….it is extremely horrifying to think of the world where everyone is so obsessed to be rich that they lose humanity. You become just another Rat in this rat race. Hence, please think about what and how much you want because it’s never ‘all or nothing’ in the game of life. YOU make your future based on your past and present decisions. Afterall, Hritik is right… “खलीहाथ आये थे हम खाली हाथ जायेंगे बस प्यार के दो मीठे बोल झिलमिलायेंगे तो हंस क्यूँ कि दुनिया को है हँसाना…”.....#ThinkWiseChooseWise
